Saint Wenceslaus (907-935); Saint Lawrence Ruiz and Companions (Martyred in Japan, 1633-1637)

Friday of the Twenty-Fifth Week in Ordinary Time

Readings of the Day
RB: Ch 7:19-23
Mass: Si 3:1-11; Resp Ps 144; Lk 9:18-22

There is an appointed time for everything, and a time for every thing under the heavens.

One of my favorite readings is from the Book of Ecclesiastes, fitting with today's photo: 'A time to be born, and a time to die.' Let us pray today especially for all newborns and their parents (see my new grandniece and her proud dad, my nephew). 🙂

The triune God is a communion of love, and the family is its living reflection.
(Pope Francis, Amoris Laetitia On Love in the Family, 11)

Saint Wenceslaus, Saint Lawrence Ruiz and Companions, pray for us.
