Friday of the Twenty-First Week in Ordinary Time

First Friday of the Month

Readings of the Day
RB: Prologue 45-50
Mass: 1 Co 4:1-5; Resp Ps 37; Lk 5:33-39

The Lord will bring light to what is hidden in darkness and manifest the motives of our hearts.

Related to St Paul's words above are today's Gospel Acclamation and Communion Antiphon from Mass.

I am the light of the world, says the Lord; whoever follows me will have the light of life.

Thus says the Lord: Let whoever is thirsty come to me and drink. Streams of living water will flow from within the one who believes in me.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the LIVING God, you are the LIGHT of the world. Let your light shine into the dark recesses of our hearts; dispel the darkness that leads to narrow thinking and judgmental attitudes. Help us to put on fresh wineskins and be fully alive in your love, so that, 'everyone will receive praise from God.'
Amen.
